These are some behind the scenes images taken when filming in the park. This demonstrates well the issue I had when filming because the sun was really low therefore there was flares of sun in certain directions. So I had to move when filming at some points to make sure the lighting was good.

Filming Diary - Friday 12th of December

Today I filmed the beginning scenes for my music video. I had planned to film the party scene also but the actors couldn't make it last minute so I had to reschedule that section and film the parts that I could.

The shots that I did manage to get did go quite well in some places but other my framing could have been better and also maybe smoother transitions between the shots.

Lighting was an issue in the close up shots as the position of the actor meant that her face was dark and shadowed at some moments, so I may re-film that at some point to make sure you can see her face and hair properly.

Filming Diary

Friday 5th of December

Today I filmed the majority of the park scene for my music video. As it was really cold we didn't want to stay too long and I didn't like having the equipment in a park incase it was stolen.

There was some difficulties as Jack (the actor) was struggling to mouth the words in time with the music so that it would work when I edit the footage. This was because he didn't fully know the words, so next time he need to learnt the words before hand.

At first I had a little play with the camera to get used to using it and also how to position the tripod correctly. I then practised framing and filmed a couple of test shots.

The shots which went well I thought was the close-ups of Kate (the actress) and also the shots of the two actors walking towards and away from each other.

Overall, I think the filming went well considering it was the first time we had all tried it.

Main Female Character: Kate Maxey

 

I have chosen Kate to be the main girl character as she is reliable and professional when acting. She has previous experience of being in other people's music videos so she knows that it has to be taken seriously. I have been friends with Kate for years and know that I can rely on her to turn up when needed and to bring certain items of clothing/props if necassary. She has 'the look' that I wanted for my music video as she dresses in an individual way and suites the idea of the character.

 

 

 

 

Main Male Character: Jack Blanchard

 

I have chosen Jack to be in my music video as he is used to being infront of the camera as he has been in other people's music videos. He has the overall style that I wanted in my male character and think that he will perform well as this character because of his humourous personality. He is reliable and usually available when I need to film.

Weather for filming

I intend to film on Friday between 12pm and 3pm. As the weather is looking to be slightly cloudy I may have to make sure that I get the filming done as early as possible to ensure there is as much natural light as possible. The actors will also have to wear suitable clothing i.e. coats and jackets as the temperature is expected to be cold. The weather being cloudy doesn't effect the overall affect of the shots I don't think as the weather doesn't have to set the mood.
